OUR STORY
Gary McIntosh is a Pastoral Overseer, who has been investing in local church ministry for more than 42 years. With a heart for multi-cultural and multi-generational teams, Pastor Gary has been planting, guiding and growing ministries across the US.
After graduating Oral Roberts University, he became associate chaplain of the university, learning under the tutelage of a seasoned minister, Rev. Bob Stamps, for 3 years. Feeling the pull to local church ministry, Gary and Debbie functioned on the staff of Bethany Christian School. In every city, there seemed to be a pastor with a similar story - a big heart for people but a big empty space in it. It became no surprise the thing pastors needed most was each other.
Having sat under seasoned leaders for 6 years following a formal theological education, Gary & Debbie joined with a friend to found Higher Dimensions Evangelistic Center in Tulsa, OK where they served as the associate pastors for 11 years. During which time, they learned to govern a local church within a high functioning team of pastors, developing a membership of 4,000, building a television ministry, and launching the national Azusa Conference.
During this time Debbie became the Executive Director of a licensed Adoption Agency, managed a crisis pregnancy center, founded a residential facility for women in crisis pregnancy and a nationally syndicated curriculum for purpose driven purity.
Having laid the foundation for the church for 11 years, they began to feel the call to a new work.
Traveling across the country, Gary began to understand the need for local pastors to have support, training and counsel. In every city, there was a pastor with a similar story, a big heart for people, . But there was one big surprise in his research - the thing the pastors needed most - was each other.
So he began building a network of pastors, resourcing them and helping to oversee their churches.
When the model was proven, they took that model back to Higher Dimensions to the Azusa Fellowship, where they could scale the model across thousands of churches.
When that work was complete, Gary and Debbie found themselves, once again hearing a new call. For as long as they could remember, Tulsa had been their home base. But there was an area of Tulsa, with a rich history, that had been underserved for too long. After much prayer and the blessing of the senior pastor, they founded a new church in the neighborhood that needed it most.
Transformation Church, is a dynamic, multi-ethnic, multi-cultural, non-denominational inner-city ministry in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It embraces the spirit of its founder as it expresses a radical, diversified, progressive, 21st century technological church. TC serves the north side of Tulsa, OK by re-presenting the Gospel to empower people. Pastor Gary and Debbie have spent the last 17 years investing in that community and building a successful team to ensure that it stands as a beacon in the neighborhood.
Pastor Gary spent several years grooming and training a new young pastor to lead Transformation Church in it's next season. That new pastor, Pastor Michael Todd, now serves as the Lead Pastor with Pastor Gary as the Oversight Pastor.
In this next season, Pastor Gary is returning to the call to build local churches by supporting, developing, discipling and growing the next generation of pastors. Equipping them and coming alongside to help them as they build their communities and build the kingdom one local church at a time.
